It is an unfortunate reality that every once in a while a game comes along that has one particular moment that players with disabilities cannot get past no matter how many times they try and no matter how many different approaches they take. Whether it’s a particularly hard wall jumping sequence in the latest Prince of Persia game or a timed puzzle in Zelda, these moments are sure to pop up and confront any serious, disabled gamer. So the question for this week is, how do you cope with these moments in games? There are two prominent solutions. Either a player abandons the game and moves on to something more accessible, or they ask for help from somebody who does not have their particular challenge, who can get past the barrier for them. But there may be other options. So what do you do to cope with these types of barriers in games? Leave your feedback in the comments below.
